Berkley Brick Paver

Buying your own home can be one of the most rewarding experiences of adulthood. After all, a home is your own domain where you call the shots. You have worked hard to provide a home for yourself and your family, so you should be able to reap the rewards that come along with making a space truly your own. When it comes to customizing your outdoor space, brick pavers can add an element of creativity and style while also being very practical and cost effective.

What Can Brick Pavers Be Used For?

Brick pavers are one of the most versatile options out there when it comes to creating a patio space or walkway. Brick paver designs can be more traditional brick patios with neutral and consistent colors, or they can be intricate designs with many different colors. You can use brick pavers to create an entire patio or driveway, or they could also be used just for a small walkway or for the area around your pool. As you can see, the options are endless when it comes to what you can do with these versatile bricks.

How Are Brick Pavers Installed?

Brick pavers are relatively straight forward to install, but do require a significant amount of effort and planning. Once you have decided where you would like to install brick pavers, the base needs to be prepared by digging out the designated area. Typically, about 5-7 inches needs to be dug out to provide your brick pavers with a stable area to settle. This can vary by brick type, so it is best to talk with a brick paver contractor. Once the area has been dug out, brick pavers are laid and arranged to create the design you are looking for and set in place with sand. As it can be costly to not get this right on the first attempt, it is smart to consult with a Berkley brick paver professional if you are at all uncertain of your ability to get it right the first time.

Caring For Your Brick Pavers

Within the first 6 months of having your new brick pavers installed, a sealant should be applied in order to protect the bricks. This will allow them time to settle into place and keep them looking great for seasons to come. With proper cleaning and normal wear and tear, this same sealing solution will need to be applied every 3 to 7 years depending on weather patterns and traffic on your brick pavers. If your brick pavers do get damaged or move out of place, they are fairly straight forward to fix. As each paver is an individual brick, you can replace only the damaged area without too much trouble. Brick pavers require very little upkeep, but the right maintenance program can ensure they never go out of style.
